As broadcasters and media organizations take on the challenge of meeting shifting consumer demands, the ability to deliver richer, more engaging content across all platforms is critical. EMG chose Grass Valley to deploy lightweightLDX 86N4K HDR RF camera heads to optimize its existing RF wireless offering for 4K UHD. It is the industry’s only wireless, shoulder-mounted 4K RF head, offering EMG a single solution for transmitting HD, 4K and HiSpeed HD over the same link. As one of Europe’s leading broadcast facilities and service providers, EMG is now able to deliver unmatched coverage of live events, such as international road cycling and marathons.

Ronald Meyvisch, chief technology officer, EMG commented : “We’ve developed unique wireless solutions to provide our clients with the best coverage of their projects, and we always aim to deliver the highest frame rate possible with the highest quality imagery. To complement our UHD wireless technology, we were looking for a lightweight, robust and native 4K HDR RF camera. We have been a Grass Valley customer for many years – their solutions are unmatched and we had full confidence that they could meet our requirements for this project. The new LDX 86N4K RF camera head was the perfect solution for what we needed. With no compromise on image quality, we have the agility we need to successfully operate in an RF broadcast environment. Grass Valley has consistently worked hard to address today’s market challenges head on, making them the perfect technology partner for us.”

“Sports fans want to feel as close to live action as they can regardless of where they are. As such, broadcasters and content providers face constant pressure to deliver more angles, better quality images and more immersive viewing experiences,” added Tim Banks, vice president of sales, EMEA, Grass Valley.

“In turn, broadcast facilities and service providers have to ensure their solutions deliver the best possible results. This latest project with EMG illustrates our unwavering commitment to finding optimal solutions that help our customers evolve their business to keep pace with market and consumer demand.”
